FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you anticipate your work will appreciate in value?

There is no guarantee of future financial value for my work. The market in art is a strange and wonderful thing. I believe my pieces could easily appreciate in value if they please a growing number of buyers and are well displayed by these buyers. You could be part of this trend! But, my feeling is, above all, to buy art first and foremost because you like it and want to live with it.

Where can I find proof of the value. Are you listed at any auctions?

You will not find any auction prices for my work. For me art has always been pure pleasure. To receive money for my creations was unthinkable. It was not until recently that I, at the encouragement of others, sold my first works.

Do you have special pricing for quantity orders or any other pricing breaks I should know about?

Yes. Click here to Place an Order. Presently, if you buy two you may select a third free. Prices subject to change without notice.

What if I wish to return your art after I receive it?

The return policy is as follows:

To receive a full refund, the piece must be returned undamaged within 30 days. Shipping costs of the return including the cost for appropriate insurance are the responsibility of the buyer. The amount of purchase will be credited to the buyerís account or refunded within 30 days of receipt of the item.

If you wish to order additional items after returning a piece, you must process these new transactions as you did your original transaction. We cannot process exchanges, per se.

What if my Pattiart order arrives damaged?

Each order is insured at an amount commensurate with the value of the piece(s). It will be the buyer's responsibility to enter a claim with the shipper should the order arrive damaged.

What else can you tell me about the art pieces?

Every image is signed and year dated by Patti. The paper is acid-free and some images are already framed. Dimensions listed on the Portfolio page are based on paper dimensions. Actual dimensions of the piece will vary depending on the style of the frame. Framed pieces include glass over the paper.

How long have you been painting?

I cannot remember a time in my life when I was not doing art of all kinds including murals, sketches, paintings, etchings, stage design, and ceramics. Although I have never categorized myself as a professional artist, my work has been shown in exhibitions and art shows in Europe and La Jolla, California. I probably lost my amateur standing in September 2002 when I sold fourteen paintings and two ceramic plates in two hours at a gallery show at the La Jolla Stage Company. This website is the first step I've taken toward becoming a serious professional.

What type of education and training have you had?

I took all available art classes in high school, followed by a bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Maryland with a strong studio component. Postgraduate, I have taken seven studio courses in various mediums at Mesa College and at the Athenaeum in La Jolla.

Where are you from?

I spent the first 23 years of my life in Great Falls, Montana. I lived twenty-six years in Europe and have lived in La Jolla, California for the past thirteen years.
